Visa Information
If you live outside Europe you may need to obtain Entry Clearance: a visa. Please check this
on www.ukvisas.gov.uk where you can find how to get a visa. We have researched this site
and, although we are not qualified to give legal advice, we understand that if you need a
visa you must have the correct documents including:
Your passport
A Letter of Acceptance which confirms that you have been accepted for a course and have
paid your fees.
Evidence to show you have enough money to pay for your stay in the UK. (You will need to show your bank statements to the Embassy).
Evidence that you have reached B1 level if you plan to study for longer than six months.
Below is a video animation which shows a student going through the application process for a General Student visa. It explains the points requirements, what evidence you need to provide with your application, biometrics, and entering the UK through passport control. Please note that from 22 February 2010, the visa letter is replaced by a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies). The CAS is a number issued by the school once all the visa requirements have been met.
